Electrolysis is a permanent hair removal method that involves inserting a needle into each individual hair follicle, and delivering an electrical charge to them one at a time. After a very fine probe is inserted into the hair follicle, the hair is removed by tweezers.
In my practice I do electrolysis treatments by thermolysis method, using ThermoBlend 328 – computerized equipment by Silhouette-Tone.
How many electrolysis treatments will I need?
Many factors influence hair growth, so you will need to return for several electrolysis visits. The total number of sessions needed to remove hair permanently from a particular area will vary from person to person. Most clients return once a week or every other week as needed. But the unwanted hair will be gone forever once the series of treatments is complete. In my practice I do 15 minute or 30 minute sessions, on face only. For removal of body hair, consider treatments by laser.
Is electrolysis painful?
For most people, electrolysis treatment doesn’t cause a lot of pain, but it can hurt a little. I use numbing liquid on each client before every treatment. If you still find it too uncomfortable, your doctor may be able to prescribe an anaesthetic cream.
